Naturopathy
I utilise different strategies to help people with their health and well-being. Naturopathy incorporates nutrition, herbal medicine and other modalities for a wholistic assessment, health management and for prevention of dis-ease.
I utilize a whole food plant based diet and provide nutritional counselling around this. The whole food plant based diet is considered by many leading experts in fields such as medicine, cardiology, natural therapy, dietetics etc. to be a superior approach for many reasons. Many studies and journal articles attest to this, and the International Journal of Disease Reversal & Prevention provides much information on this approach.
There are six foundational principles underpin the practice of naturopathy: 1. The healing power of nature 2. First do no harm 3. Find and treat the cause whenever possible, not only the symptoms 4. Treat the whole person 5. Education 6. Prevention.
I have long used Naturopathy to support the health of people as well as their animal companions when requested. I used this approach personally to successfully overcome graves disease about 20 years ago.
What do Consultations Involve?
Clients complete a detailed health questionnaire, and take part in a consultation that addresses areas of concern. From there strategies for better health are devised and any supportive information given such as recipes and supportive supplement recommendations. Factors that may be considered include lifestyle factors and stress levels.
Main Area of Focus
A main area of focus for me is helping to support people in overcoming stress - physically, mentally, emotionally. I provide assistance in supporting the nervous system and helping people to be more resilient to stress. I also provide education and support to build a positive mindset around health. By addressing the physical and mental aspects during stressful times, people are more likely to create calm and to flourish.
